In the case of the Spezzanos, they frequently pose as artificial family authority figures, providing an instant home for emotionally vulnerable (and financially affluent) people. In Asia, Mr. Spezzano is frequently called "Uncle Chuck." Lency is also known as "Mom" to several Psychology of Vision followers. This is hardly consistent with practices by real professionals in the field, but totally consistent with cult behavior.
In one Youtube, we see Lency calling POV trainer Melissa Meyer "my daughter," demonstrating how the Spezzanos promote this sort of relationship where their followers are kept in perpetual child status.
Remember, neither one of the Spezzanos are psychologists or licensed or qualified to be offering any sort of healing services. Their clients should be considered victims rather than customers.

What an amazing photo. It pretty much tells the whole story.
Grotesque and bizarre.
Chuck has the canned smile. The Victim is soaking up the attention, yet has his arms crossed in a defensive posture as his boundaries are being blatantly violated. Lency gives a sidelong look to the camera, making sure this Kodak moment is preserved. This really is one of those defining POV photos, right up there with Chuck standing in front of giant posters of himself.
All in the eye of the beholder, and that is what my eye sees.
This recruit made it into the leader's home, he must have lots of money or a good target to recruit more!!!

The Spezzanos have such a dark legacy.
It is remarkable outdated and stale scams like this still exist. POV is a living dinosaur in the annals of con jobs.
