Healing Metaphors A-Z - Arteriosclerosis

Arteriosclerosis
This condition involves hardening, thickening and loss of elasticity in the arterial walls. Arteriosclerosis means that we feel that there are limitations on what we can give to ourselves and on the amount of nurturing that we feel we deserve. We have been trying to nurture ourselves through indulgence, which manifests itself as a vicious circle of indulgence-sacrifice that counterfeits our giving and receiving. We are not maintaining our connection to the Source, and so we loose [sic] our resourcefulness and flexibility. This is stopping us from recognizing who we are and what we came to do. We feel as if life has hemmed us in and it is too “big” to try to change.
