Webinar mit Chuck Spezzano und Brita C. Dahlberg

 July 2016

The Frankfurter Ring has recently hosted a 31 minute webinar with Chuck Spezzano where he is interviewed by Brita Dahlberg, with POV trainer Anne-Kathrin Koch in the role of interpreter.

In their promotional webpage for this event, the Frankfurter Ring yet again erroneously identifies Spezzano as a "psychologist." Even by German standards he does not qualify for this title.

Here are some of my review notes:

This is not really a "webinar," it is more like a half-hour of Spezzano plugging his latest book.

The 3-way German-English language interpretation makes this difficult to watch. Also, technical glitches make Spezzano sound like Max Headroom at times. At one point in the webinar, a barking dog in the background dominates the soundtrack. In an act of impressive improv, Spezzano does manage to roll with it and incorporate the dog into his narrative. He is indeed motivated by his message which is "Buy my book" and nothing is going to get in his way, including barking dogs.

One wonders why Spezzano has never bothered to learn the German language? Central Europe has certainly been a cash cow for him. Are the Germans not worth the effort?

Spezzano uses the American commercial fast-food term "supersized" more than once here. Since what he offers is the New Age equivalent of junk food, this seems appropriate.

Not only are past lives mentioned here, but also a reference to a time before we had bodies. I would be interested in hearing more about this theory, although he presented this as fact, not a concept open to discussion.

He uses the f-word at one point and begins to exhibit the strain of lewd humor he is famous for. He has a very low opinion of men, seeing them as uncomplicated, cartoonish and brainless beings who think only about sex. He advises women to use sex as a reward system in order to control their partners. Notice that POV does not have a lot of male participants.

Spezzano brags about his own marriage as an exemplary example of how marital bliss can exist, yet the Chuck-Lency partnership is nothing like the normal wage slave couple. The Spezzanos spend long periods of time apart from each other and have hired help to do things that other couples must do themselves. Most people are not as affluent as the Spezzanos nor have the sense of entitlement that comes with such security. And, most couples are not corporate business partners. These two have lived in wealth for so long they have no idea what sort of relationship struggles people with real jobs have to face.

I wonder about Dahlberg. In the times I have observed her during several softball interviews with Chuck, she does carry an air of being a bit distant like she knows she is humoring some obvious con artist hustler. It is really too bad the Frankfurter Ring enables Spezzano. Their association with him only tarnishes their image and it does not help that they have continually promoted him with false credentials for many years.
