Although I do not know the circumstances specific to Anne-Kathrin Koch, I do know she started the 2017 year with every intention of remaining a level II trainer for Psychology of Vision in Germany, since her brochures for that year were already printed and scheduled for POV workshops.
When she arrived at the POV trainers training in Hawaii Jan. 2017 did she know ahead of time that her status as a POV trainer would no longer apply on her return trip home? POV lost about half of their trainers in the Great Trainer Depletion of 2017, and Koch was one of those who either quit or was dropped. From the outside I was rather surprised to see her no longer in the ranks of the POV trainers since all indications pointed to her being a loyal, obedient follower and a rising star.
Koch has continued on a solo career as a coach since that time, but still pays homage to the Spezzanos and according to her 2018 brochure, continues to employ the practice of "joining," which Lency Spezzano has heralded as her own special creation in a very proprietary way.

So my question is-- even though Koch is now an ex-trainer no longer shelling out the outrageous annual "license fees" of thousands of dollars the Spezzanos demand, can she still include "joining" as part of her solo non-POV workshops? Or does she have to give the Spezzanos a cut of the profits in that case?
If she doesn't have to hand over any dough, then I might start my own "joining" sessions, but with a very different motive-- chiefly as part of a stand-up comedy routine-- and I would be sure to give POV all the credit.
[Update: April 29, 2020: A link to a blogpost by Koch, who
was purged from POV. Her post should be entitled "I Will Survive!" We know she is
not alone and send her our best wishes in building a new life]
