Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a cerebral disorder that involves a recurrent pattern of seizures. It is characterized by sudden brief attacks of altered consciousness, motor activity or sensory phenomena. Attacks commonly take the form of convulsive seizures, but sometimes the symptoms can be a very mild stomachache or headache. Epilepsy is caused by a brain lesion or by metabolic disturbances. Having epilepsy means that we are being ‘seized’ with terror, which is stopping us in our tracks. This can be the result of a shocking upwelling from the unconscious. We feel overwhelmed emotionally and cannot deal with any more. We are trying to ‘think’ our way out of a call to heal without actually dealing with the feelings.
