Understanding Men

In his 2011 work, Understanding Men, author Peter Granger mentions his connection with Psychology of Vision. This is another case of someone in the POV inner circle who bestows false titles to the Spezzanos. Chuck is called a "psychologist" and Lency a "psychotherapist." I'm sure Granger is sincere in his belief the Spezzanos are actually licensed professionals in the occupational description he grants them, but in fact they are not even close.

Do these people not know Spezzano was fined by the State of Hawaii in 2004 and cannot use the title "psychologist" unless he acquires a license, which I'm sure he would have some difficulty obtaining?

So how is it that even people who are in the POV universe think Chuck Spezzano is a "psychologist"? Is this a case where "a man sees what he wants to see and disregards the rest"? Or have they been deliberately misled? Granger is far from being the only one in this position.
