Healing Metaphors A-Z - Coma

Coma
A coma is an abnormal, deep stupor, which is the result of an illness or injury. On an emotional level there is a progression of steps that lead to a coma. The sequence of these steps are strain, sacrifice, martyring ourselves, valuelessness, overwhelm, burnout, giving up, shock and coma. Suffering from a coma means that we are attempting to heal an old pattern of trying to save the family as a child. In childhood we became overwhelmed with failure because the family wasn’t saved and as a result there were ‘selves’ inside of us that went into a form of emotional coma (or extreme withdrawal).

"An abnormal, deep stupor" is how I would characterize the mindset of a POV devotees, willingly submitting themselves to be manipulated and managed by two old grifters.
