Chuck Spezzano's Army of Liars

According to the documents on our blog all of the following individuals and/or corporate entities have contributed, knowingly or not, to the myth that Chuck Spezzano is a professional "psychologist" and has worked as one and/or has claimed he has a Ph.D. in "Clinical Psychology" and/or that he is a "psychiatrist" and/or that Lency Spezzano is a "psychologist" as well and/or that Chuck is a "world-famous" and "internationally renowned" psychologist and/or that Chuck is involved in serious professional psychological research.

Yet again we must point out this is false advertising. Falsifying Chuck Spezzano's credentials in marketing seems to be the rule rather than exception, especially in European merchandising of POV literature and events. The Spezzanos have allowed this to spread-- much to their economic advantage. Sitting by and passively letting these falsehoods become so widespread year after year to their financial benefit is ultimately the responsibility of Chuck and Lency Spezzano.

Spezzano's 1977 Ph.D. was apparently in something exotic called "Professional Psychology." It was not accredited by the APA, which means his diploma bypassed any sort of national standard. Even in Europe this should disqualify him from being called a "psychologist." Both of the Spezzanos are on record saying Chuck is not a "psychologist."

In addition, Spezzano was fined by the State of Hawaii in 2004 for impersonating a professional. He is not licensed and is not even remotely qualified to practice professional psychology even if he applied. He has NEVER worked as a licensed "psychologist" or published any research in peer-reviewed journals that we can locate. His credentials have been inflated and falsified for decades, starting with his own newspaper advertisements in the 1980s. On rare occasions someone will go back and correct these falsehoods and I have drawn a line through their names. But as you can see, the sheer number of these fable-spreaders is formidable. The Frankfurter Ring is probably the most blatant and prolific among the liars.

I'll continue to modify this list as changes warrant.

[Update Apr. 5, 2020: Since this was originally posted we have contacted and shared our research with several major booksellers and event coordinators. Hundreds of ads with bogus credentials have been corrected or even deleted and some of the booksellers thanked us, including one of Germany's top sellers. Now that most of the majors have been informed, from this point on you can conclude any booksellers or event coordinators on this list who still have Spezzano bogus credentials online, no matter how old the post might be, are aware they are continuing to perpetuate the lies when they call Spezzano a "psychologist" or has ever worked as one, or has a degree in "clinical psychology," or has performed any sort of respected research. Yes, I'm talking about Frankfurter Ring, Arvelle, Baeschlen Bucher, Basler Psi-Verein, Book Depository, Bucher Buy Eva, Buchhandlung Braun, Buchhandlung Schmidt, Ex Libris, Lehmanns Media, Lüthy Balmer Stocker Buchhaus, Schuler Bücher, Syntropia, Morawa, Weltbild, and others-- all of them are spreading a lie and they know it. Do you want to patronize any corporation like that?]
