Parallel glocalization: the New Age in Taiwan

Chuck and Lency Spezzano at the Psychology of Vision Trainers Training 2017 with the last two remaining POV trainers in Taiwan as of this writing (August 2018), Krystal Hsu and Ian Lai

This academic paper by Shu-Chuan Chen and James A. Beckford appears to have been created in 2007. It includes a nice summation of the history of New Age movements in Taiwan.

Psychology of Vision was too minuscule and tiny in Taiwan to be mentioned but this paper does provide a context for how POV fits into the whole game of New Age merchandising in Taiwan. Chen and Beckford do make reference to Spiritual Ocean and A Course in Miracles, two elements that helped enable POV to get a foothold there.

POV trainer and golden child  Francine Girard, who has absolutely zero professional accredited and/or licensed credentials in psychology but is touted as a "therapist," includes Taiwan on her for-profit "workshop" circuit in Asia.

Onward to the academic paper. Most interesting. Here is a link and the abstract:

It seems that Krystal and Ian are no longer POV trainers. The POV cult does have one lone new recruit as the sole trainer in Taiwan as of Feb. 2019.
