Healing Metaphors A-Z - Flesh Eating Virus

From the Psychology of Vision 2002 Forum as found in the Internet Archive:

Someone wrote that a neighbor had died of a flesh eating disease and that they themselves were worried. Janie Patrick's response:

A flesh eating condition is showing us that we are in a massive self –attack. We feel something, whether it be an experience, feeling or idea, that is eating away at us. We are consumed by rancor, attack and self-attack. We are being ‘eaten alive’ by a strong self-destructive personality and are compensating for it, while hiding the destroyer shadow figure within us.
