30 Most Influential Psychologists Working Today

For a few years a Psychology of Vision sanctioned website, povevents.com, run by a POV trainer, declared "Chuck Spezzano is one of the world's leading psychologists ..."

http://psychologyofvision.blogspot.com/2015/10/pov-website-calls-chuck-spezzano-one-of.html

In a lot of other Spezzano promotional material, Chuck is called an "internationally renowned psychologist" such as the example on this link:

http://psychologyofvision.blogspot.com/2017/06/evensi-calls-chuck-spezzano.html

The problem is Spezzano is not even close to being a psychologist at all and in fact was fined by the State of Hawaii in 2004 for posing as one. The constant marketing of Spezzano as a psychologist since then breaks the conditions of the fine. He needs to be hauled back into court and refund the money to those who paid to see him under the false impression they were seeing a true professional. He made a profit under fraudulent means.

But, to be fair, let us take a look at a group that one of our fellow POV critics recently pointed out-- "30 Most Influential Psychologists Working Today" from the Best Masters in Psychology website from 2013:

And, what!? I don't see Spezzano's name in that list?? How can that be? Surely there must be some mistake!

Let's compare the accomplishments of the people on the list with Spezzano, shall we?

--In general, the people in this list are associated with prestigious academic or research institutions.

The only institution Spezzano was associated with in the last 40 years is Oneness University, which he attended in 2007 and after years of praising the place and copying major parts of their curriculum he suddenly wiped all mention of them from the POV website and his LinkedIn without explaining why. Yet the Oneness University concepts remain in the POV dogma.

--The people in this list have had influential articles published in peer-reviewed journals.

Spezzano has not had any research published in any professional journals that I can locate.

--Probably everyone on this list has an APA-accredited Ph. D. and have engaged in continuing professional education in the field of psychology.

Spezzano does not have an APA-accredited Ph.D. and from what I can learn has never had any professional continuing education since 1977.

--The people on the list have received honors such as the MacArthur Prize Fellowship, listed in Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World, numerous APA-related awards, the National Medal of Science, the Nobel Memorial Prize and many others.

Chuck Spezzano was given an award by his former business partner, Michael North, as a "Hero of Forgiveness."

--Many on the list appear to be active with professional groups such as the APA, some even serving as president of the organization.

Chuck Spezzano does not belong to any professional organizations as far as I can ascertain.

--Everyone on this list is a psychologist.

Chuck Spezzano is not a psychologist.

I am sure those who invested in Chuck Spezzano believing that he was truly a world leading psychologist will be very disappointed and indignant when they discover this serious deception and false impression.Lying about such an important role and title can easily destroy this for-profit business. Ironically this same business uses "spirituality" to being expert in relationships to recruit members and participants. Yet this enormous lie is their promotional bait. What a huge disappointment to those who "BELIEVED"! How will they be compensated for this lie about qualifications?
This is a very serious offense!!!!!

Chuck Spezzano is no more qualified to give you any "coaching" advice than anyone else on the street. Check out his credentials and you'll see he is totally bogus and holds no license or certificate to make him accountable. He is a con artist and certainly no "psychologist" as his own people who he has responsibility over claim he is.
